Check Out New Items in Catálogo HORES

We have welcomed 2025 revising Catálogo HORES so as to keep this online catalgoue up-to-date. Ever since we released the website back in October, 5 new Spanish-authored works about the Holocaust have appeared, so that the overall number of entries for the year 2024 has reached 22. The new entries include 2 exhibitions, one on drawings about Hitler and the other one on Jewish Brigadists, the latest novels by Arturo Pérez Reverte and Esther Bendahan as well as a memoir, Stendhal en Mauthausen, about the concentrationary experience of the so-called Mauthausen librarian, Joan Tarragó.

  • “Por vuestra libertad y la nuestra. Judíos en las Brigadas Internacionales. Exposición monográfica” is an exhibition about Jewish Brigadists curated by Almudena Cruz and held at Centro Sefarad-Israel.

  • La isla de la mujer dormida is a novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte and published by Alfaguara. Although the plot revolves around the Spanish Civil War, there is a German “fast boat”, an attack ship known by the Allies as “E-boats”, that plays a significant role in the story, as noted by Jacinto Antón in El País.

In addition to these 5 new entries for the year 2024, we have included other works that were missing. Collaborators’ kind help has been crucial in identifying works we had left out in the first version of the Catálogo HORES. New entries are listed below in alphabetical order:

  • Calcerrada Guijarro, Enrique. 2022. Sobrevivir a Mauthausen-Gusen. Memorias de un español en los campos nazis. Barcelona: B Ediciones.
  • Galparsoro, Etxahun. 2020. Bilbao en Mauthausen. Memorias de supervivencia de un deportado vasco. Barcelona: Crítica.
  • García Serrano, Yolanda y Rubio, Juan Carlos. 2022. Música para Hitler. Málaga: El toro celeste.
  • Navarro, Julia. 2013. Dispara, yo ya estoy muerto. Barcelona: Plaza & Janés.
  • Tarragó Balcells, Joan y Tarragó Esteve, Llibert. 2022. Heretar Mauthausen. Lleida: Pagès Editors.

  • 2022. De Cuenca a Mauthausen: La historia de nuestros paisanos olvidados. Parte I. Cuenca: ARMH Cuenca.
